The logo of the PfP Consortium was devised by Dr. Ulrich Gysel of Switzerland.  It is based on a statue of the Greek goddess Athena, credited to the sculptor Phidias.  Athena was the goddess of both wisdom and war.  Here, she contemplates a helmet and leans on a spear, which we interpret to symbolize the preparedness for action that must accompany peaceful contemplation.  Athena is placed within a lattice-work, symbolizing the network of people from defense academies and security studies institutes who make up the Consortium.
